Fill inside a box

A closer carton needs less fill. Loose fill is for the gap that remains.

Size, then fill

Packaging Boxes starts with a carton close to the goods. Void fill is for the awkward shape that still leaves a gap: loose chips, paper void fill, or Ecoflo peanuts made from corn starch.

Recycled air pillows and recyclable paper void fill are on the eco-friendly page. They do not make an oversized carton into a good carton.

What does not fill

A crash lock’s peel-and-seal strip closes the box. It does not pack the void. Bubble wrap cushions a surface. Edge strips guard a corner.

If the closed carton can be shaken and the goods move, add fill or change the size.
