Built for a fast pack
A crash lock box is made to be assembled quickly. The base locks into shape when the carton is opened, and the range includes a peel-and-seal strip so the pack can be closed without a separate tape on that seam. The category describes them for ecommerce desks that need a short packing step.
The same category text gives the board as 150K/T, and describes the boxes as recyclable and biodegradable. It also says they are sized to Royal Mail small parcel guidelines, which is why they are grouped as postal boxes as well as ecommerce boxes.
The sizes in the range
Each size is its own category, and the products under it are that box in different pack quantities. The sizes listed are 110 x 110 x 95 mm, 160 x 150 x 85 mm, 200 x 100 x 100 mm, 222 x 150 x 88 mm, 290 x 208 x 95 mm and 330 x 220 x 150 mm.
Pick the size that holds the goods without a large empty gap. A crash lock base does not change the rule about void fill: if the contents can move, add fill from the protection range. If the goods are soft and do not need a rigid wall, a poly mailer may be the lighter pack.
Royal Mail small parcels
The Royal Mail changes page states the current small parcel maximum as 450 mm long, 350 mm wide and 160 mm deep, and it says those figures are external dimensions. It also says small parcels cost less to send than standard parcels for people and businesses sending fewer than 1,000 parcels a year. The crash lock sizes above are the ones the category lists as fitting those rules.
